Update: August 26, 2025
Japan Post has announced a temporary suspension of shipments to the U.S. (official notice). Rest assured—your shipments are not affected. We use reliable private carriers that continue delivering to the U.S. as usual, without any disruption.
Update: August 22, 2025
The United States is ending the de minimis rule, which currently allows imports under USD 800 to enter duty-free. Starting August 29, 2025, all international parcels entering the U.S. will be subject to duties and taxes.
To comply with this policy change and ensure smooth delivery, we are collecting a U.S. import duties of approximately $3 per box for all subscriptions shipping to U.S. addresses.
We do not retain any portion of this fee. It is collected solely to ensure your shipments are processed smoothly through customs and delivered without unnecessary delays. By collecting this fee in advance, you will not encounter unexpected charges when your box arrives in the U.S.
How this affects your plan [for existing subscribers]
Monthly plans: Each renewal after August 25 will include an additional import duties of approximately $3 per box.
Prepaid plans (3, 6, 12 months): At your next renewal, a lump-sum fee of approximately $3 × the number of boxes in your plan will be added.
Unshipped prepaid boxes: If your prepaid subscription includes the October Box or any later boxes, an import duties of approximately $3 per box will be applied from your October Box. If you have multiple boxes remaining, the total fee will be billed as a lump sum in early September.
Update: August 8, 2025
What happened
On July 30, 2025, President Trump announced plans to suspend the de minimis exemption—a rule that currently allows imports valued at USD 800 or less to enter the United States without duties or taxes (you can check the details here). If implemented, this change would apply to parcels under USD 800 that arrive at U.S. customs on or after August 29, 2025.
What this means for your subscription
Until August 29: Boxes that clear U.S. customs before August 29, 2025 will continue to ship tax-free, with no changes to your delivery or billing.
(If the policy is implemented) Boxes that arrive at U.S. customs on or after August 29 may be subject to import duties or handling fees, even if the total value is under USD 800.
At this time, official enforcement procedures and fee amounts have not been confirmed by U.S. authorities.
