FAQ: Update to U.S. Prepaid Boxes (September 2026)

What is the one-time payment, and who is affected?

• A one-time payment for U.S. subscribers on 3-, 6- and 12-month prepaid plans purchased before September 16, 2026 (JST), covering the difference between the price at which their remaining boxes were purchased at and the current price of delivering a box to the U.S. 

• It applies to the remaining boxes on those plans, beginning with the October 2026 box, that had not yet shipped when this notice was sent on September 16, 2026 (JST). 

• Plans purchased or renewed from September 16 are already at the current price and are not affected.

• Monthly subscribers are not affected; the new pricing simply applies at their next renewal.

Why is this happening? 

Two things have changed since prepaid plans were priced. 

1. International shipping costs to the U.S. have changed.

2. U.S. import duties on our boxes are now calculated as a percentage of the box price rather than the flat amount we previously collected, which means the duty per box has increased. 

Plans purchased or renewed from September 16, 2026 (JST), starting with the October 2026 box, already reflect both; this payment covers the same difference on boxes that were prepaid before that date.

Which boxes does it cover? 

The remaining boxes on a prepaid plan purchased before September 16, 2026 (JST), beginning with the October 2026 box, that had not shipped when the notice went out. 

If a box was already on its way to you, it is not included. Boxes on plans purchased or renewed from September 16 are not included, because they were bought at the current price. 

How is my amount calculated? 

By your brand, your plan and the number of prepaid boxes remaining (not yet shipped), counting from your October 2026 box. The per-box amounts are:

For example

1. Sakuraco 6-Month plan with 3 boxes remaining is 3 × $2.74 = $8.22;

2. TokyoTreat 12-Month plan with 6 boxes remaining is 6 × $3.59 = $21.54.

What does the payment consist of? 

It reflects the same two changes that apply to new pricing:

1. The updated shipping fee per box

2. The updated import duty amount per box. 

Duty rates vary by item; the amount is an estimate based on the rates that apply to the products in a typical box.

When will the payment be processed, and how will I be charged?

Once, to the payment method registered to your subscription, between September 23 and September 30, 2026 (JST). If a payment fails, we retry through the end of the month. Please make sure your payment details are current. 

Is this a recurring charge? Am I paying for an extra box? 

No to both. It is charged once, covers only boxes already in your plan, and adds no boxes. When your plan renews, the pricing at that time applies.

Will anything else about my subscription change?

No. Your boxes, shipping schedule and renewal terms are unchanged, and import duty continues to be collected in advance, so there is nothing to pay on delivery.
